i bought a 240watt 2 channel amplifer for the 2speakers i just bought to replace the 2 back ones, do i jus hook the amplifier audio cables to the back of the cd player do give them more bass, or do i have to hook them (the speakers) up to the amplifier too, if so do i need to unplug the wires from the cdplayer to the speakers and just have them hooked up to the amplifier

  1. Ok assuming you know you need an amp kit to run the actual amp, if your head unit does not have RCA plug ins for your rear speakers you will need an adapter that converts the rear speaker wires to RCA wires (you can get that adapter at wal mart, about 10-15 dollars i think?) then you will run the RCA wires to your amps input plug ins, then you connect the correct speaker wire (i mean currect size-wise (Ga.)) from  your amp to your speakers.....Good Luck!

  2. Run a pair of RCA's (red and white wires with a sleeve and pin in the middle) from the rear output on the radio to the input of the amp and speaker wire from the output of the amp to the speakers.

  3. okay if you have the amp wire (power etc) hooked up all you have to do now is get new wire from the amp to the speakers. make sure the old wires are unplugged and you just let em hang or put them somewhere.

alos dont put bass to those rear speakers unless you meant subs. they are meant for highs. this doesn't mean you wont have bass but the system will be good if you play highs from the amp instead. bass will only destroy the small speakers otherwise.

  4. that's gonna sound good man
