My mom washed my iPod. It works perfectly when plugged into the wall on a charger. But when it's disconnected it's dead again. Even hooked up to the computer it doesn't work. Does anybody know if it's fixable?

I don't know anything about this stuff so I thought I'd ask.

  1. Sounds like it killed the battery or at least left some corrosion on the battery connector (if not a Nano or Shuffle)

I do ipod repairs, contact me at fernpods_at_gmail (remove the underlines add an @ and a com) if you want more info.  I might be able to help or at least walk you through doing it yourself.

(solicitation of services directly related to the topic is supposedly allowed.)

  2. Woah! This happened to my shuffle, I wasn't really smart and threw it in the washers in my jean pocket... the headphones died and so did the ipod, but I still had a warranty. So I took it into the store and when the guy asked what happened I just said that it stopped working, even when I charge it. If your warranty is still good just say that. But don't tell them you washed it or else they won't fix it or your warranty.

  3. take it to the apple store

there still might be hope to get it fixed there

  4. Restore it from the apple web site.

  5. Um Sorry But It Wont Work Anymore Its Done. For The Answer In The Bottom Saying Take It To Apple Store The Ipods Warranty Do Not Cover That Type Of Damage Only If Its A Dis function From Inside

  6. try calling itunes

  7. it's broken.

  8. probably not fixable by you. you probably need a new battery. take it into the mac store. they'll help you

  9. I think it just has water damage. I don't know if it is fixable, but you can go the the Apple store to see if they can fix it. :]]
