The Fuggerstadter have secured the signing of Andreas Ottl on a free transfer after the player was released by Hertha Berlin. The Berlin side were relegated from the Bundesliga last season which is why they released the midfielder. Ottl has signed a two-year contract with Augsburg as he returns to Munich after spending six years in the city playing for Bayern Munich.
Augsburg avoided relegation last term and have been busy in this summer’s transfer window to acquire the likes of Ja-Cheol Koo, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Vogt-c20786, and Ragnar Klavan. The side has been successful in attracting some decent players to the club this summer and will play in the Bundesliga next season with a fairly competitive team.
Club’s sporting director, Manfred Paula, claimed that Augsburg are delighted to have acquired a quality player in the form of Andreas Ottl. He insisted that the player has immense experience and will be a great addition to the squad for the next season.
“We are pleased to have signed such an experienced midfielder in Andreas Ottl, who is in his footballing prime. His quality will strengthen our side,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Ottl expressed his delight on signing for Augsburg and admitted that it will be a new challenge in his career. He praised the club for fighting to stay in the league next season and is looking forward to playing for his new side in the upcoming campaign.
“It was impressive how the team played, above all in the Bundesliga last season, and avoided relegation. I am therefore looking forward to being able to be part of this team and I would like to make my contribution to us achieving our goal for next season of once again staying up,” he added.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andreas-Ottl-c5757 made 26 league appearances for Hertha Berlin last season and was unable to save his side from going down. The player also failed to score a single goal in the previous campaign and will be looking to prove himself.
