Villa missed out on footballing action for eight months and with the player now returning during a pre-season friendly game, Iniesta took out time to welcome him back.
Two of the players who were extremely important to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 were out injured during the last season, and many believe that their respective injuries caused Barcelona the Champions League and the Spanish La Liga titles.
First, it was Eric Abidal who had to leave first-team football because of a liver tumour. And later, it was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Villa-c10629 who broke his tibia during Barcelona’s exploits in the FIFA Club World Cup.
While Eric Abidal’s presence was missed severely in defence, David Villa was missed up front by not only Barcelona, but also by the Spanish national team.
After his injury, Villa was expected to return during the Copa del Rey final against Bilbao. However, the Spaniard missed his chance at doing so and eventually also lost a place in the Spanish national team.
However, the club doctors have finally given David Villa the green light and the Spanish striker will soon be returning to first-team action for La Blaugrana.
Villa is expected to start the pre-season friendly game against Manchester United and the fans are definitely awaiting their favourite striker to make a comeback.
Tito Vilanova is definitely going to be delighted after Villa’s return, as now he is going to have extra option up front.
Andres Iniesta is also happy to see David Villa coming back into the stride. The Spanish midfielder welcomed back his team-mate.
While speaking about David Villa making a return to first-team football, Andres Iniesta said:
"He looks great to me considering he's been injured for so long.”
"It's lovely to see him training because he's such a fundamental player and we hope it won't be long before he's back doing what he does best - score goals."
Barcelona and Manchester United are going to face each other in a pre-season friendly fixture on 8th of August. The Spanish striker, David Villa, is expected to start the game and many fans would be hoping to see him score a goal on his return.
