  1. People have to eat!! and if you are hunting for food (although i hate the idea of it) then its ok but i think its immoral when people hunt for the rack or for the head on the wall.

If an animal has to be hunted then at least use all of it. If you kill it you HAVE to eat it!!!

  2. Well, hunting is not as bad as factory farming. I liked the red indian way where they gave respect and thanks to the animal.

  3. Humans are at the top of the food chain. If you say that humans and other top predators don't have the right to hunt for  their food, well then I can not help you.  However, if you are willing to concede that than maybe you will read on.

I assume you are referring to hunting here in the us where many of the other top predators of species like deer are nearly non-existent. Therefore, it is our responsibility to keep their populations in check through regulated hunting.

There are also situations where a non-native species has been introduced to an area. This non-native species threatens the population of the native species . (This is very common in freshwater fish.  There are also 2 non-native species of deer in Texas that threaten the native white-tail). For this we are at fault, and it is up to conservationist to try and eradicate a non-native invasive species.

Yes. It is right for people to hunt, not to do so would be irresponsible.

I fish (much to my husbands dismay--i fish for the invasive exotic fish and I throw back the natives), but I can't stomach the thought of killing Bambi, thumper, or most other creatures.

I love all animals too. I cry if I witness any harm to an animal. I can't watch emergency vet on Animal Planet b/c not all the patients make it.

  4. No! There should be a law that if you hunt an animal you have to eat it. That would only be FARE! "I love animals!"

  5. Not really unless and until they are diseased and cannot be treated or there is no other alternative,

Humans don't need to hunt animals, animals have their own hunters i.e carnivorous animals.

Also because we are no longer stone age people who need to hunt for food.

It is also a fact that we will not die if we don't eat meat.

There are so many alternatives to meat. It is all about what the tongue wants. The tongue here in case is addicted to meat.

Meat itself is not good for health as it causes lots of diseases.

Hunting is more harmful when people tend to hunt for leisure or trophies.

Hunting has also become commercialized like that of fishes, whales etc which is causing their population to decline. Do these hunters think that what will they hunt when all are gone ?

At the first place hunters are the one's who are responsible for a great lot of extinction of so many species.

Even common species are becoming endangered , THANKS TO HUNTERS !!!!

  6. Domestic animals don't have rights in the human sense.  Assigning rights to animals would be like granting children the same status as adults, but neither can fend for themselves without protection from a parent or owner to feed and shelter them.

Wild animals understand that they need to protect themselves, and unless someone is using an unfair advantage when hunting,  hunting in and of itself is part of the natural order.  When humans removed the natural predators of deer (and humans), something had to take its place or the woods would be overrun with deer that would starve from the destruction of their food source.  Too many deer also cause more frequent auto accidents and crop damage.

  7. Animals don't have rights.

Rights are conferred on populations by governments.  Our rights are established and protected by the US Constitution and the succeeding Bill of Rights (+amendments).  Animals are not mentioned in the Constitution.

  8. Animals may not be able to express their interests in our language, or explicitly claim their rights from us, but the existence of their interests is beyond question. All animals seek to protect their own lives, preserve their freedom, seek what gives them pleasure and avoid what gives them displeasure or pain - in short to live their lives according to their own priorities. More than this, animals possess and express distinguishing characteristics as individuals. In all these respects, they are akin to human beings, however greatly the details of their lives may differ from ours. If animals suffer pain, and seek to protect their own lives, freedom and pleasures just as we do, on what basis can we continue to deny them the protection that rights grant to our lives, freedom and pleasures

  9. In my opinion hunting is okay as long as there is no overhunting. I also believe any animal that has a chance of becoming endangered shouldn't be hunted. For example I don't approve of hunting cougars, wolves, or bears.
