Animal crackers?

I found this to be a very hard question the makes you think.

Do vegatarins eat animal crackers?

I say no cause their shaped like animals. What do you think?

Vegetarians do eat animal shaped crackers and biscuits. As long as they do not contain animal derived ingredients or if someone was vegan, then no dairy products or egg.

I find this question to be stupid, I'm a vegetarian and I don't see why this should be a problem. It's only shaped like an animal, not actually from an animal carcass.

I'm sorry if you think you are being original, but that question has been posted in this forum at least 419 times and it comes up almost every day, sometimes two or three times a day. It has actually come up more times than that if you count the times where "vegetarian" was misspelled, and the times the question was deleted.

It's an old joke, maybe it was funny 30 or 40 years ago, but please let it go. It's too silly to be considered philosophical. It's a cliche.

Eating a cookie shaped like an animal is not the same as eating an animal. Similarly, eating a cookie shaped like Santa Claus, a star, a bell, or a house is not the same as eating any of those things.

I have never looked at the ingredients but I do think, yes, if they were made of veg-friendly ingredients it would be fine.

I think shape plays no roll in this question. They are shaped like animals because it makes it much more entertaining for young ones. The vegs who wouldn't eat them because of their shape have severe problems and need to get their priorities straight.

I do think this question was very interesting. I would have never thought of it.
