Anime: Air~ rating question?

Question

So is this show appropriate to watch~ I mean if you were to give it a sensible rating from G to R (hopefully not beyond that) What would you say?

I think it would be a PG. Not because of any strong language, violence or sexual themes, but because it'd be a hard for a child (8 and under) to understand the plotline. Even I had trouble >.<

Also, the ending will make you cry. I'm not quite sure kids want to watch something that makes them cry.

I would also recommend Shugo Chara! (it'd be a G. But it's mostly for girls.), Naruto (PG-13, because theres a lot of violence), and Death Note (PG-13, Confusing for kids.)

It's perfectly safe to watch. I wouldn't recommend it for too young of kids because they might find it boring. It is extremely sad though, so if you're going to watch it I'd grab a tissue box.
