Anime Story Help?...

I'm writing this story, it's called W I S H. And it's about these 2 best friends who are turning into rivals oh and by the way, this story is kinda like an anime. Well, anyway, their rivalry is turning dangerous, the main character, Mirari, wants her best friend/rivalry, Dakotah to die. She wishes for her to die everyday and then, a girl, comes into Mirari's appearance giving her a wish. The girl is a Death Partner(like a shinigami, but i'm changing the words) and becomes Mirari's Death partner and the girl offers Mirari one wish. Mirari wants Dakotah to die, but then she looks back at the past when her and Dakotah were friends. So, The Death Partner travels with Mirari everywhere until Mirari makes up her mind to see if she wants Dakotah to die or not. And soon, something special also happens to Dakotah.

Things may change in this story.

Tell me how you like the description so far. But, I need help.

I can't seem to think of a reason why they are rivals. I want them to be rivals, but I need a reason why? Can you help me think of reasons? They have to be anime-like, though.

desperate for answers coming from a creative 12-year-old. :-(

Well, I remember reading something like this in a manga called "Yu yu Hakusho". (one of the short stories in it)

Dakotah and Mirari applied for the same high school, but only one of them can be accepted to this expensive high school.  The one who gets the highest score in the upcoming test becomes the one to go to that high school.  Dakotah is nice to Mirari, but she is unaware that Mirari is determined to win.  So, a ghostly black-figure appeared to give Dakotah bad luck... etc. etc.  In the end, Mirari remembered their friendship and tried to take off the black figure.  And they were both saved.

I'm basically saying that you should give them something that they are in competition with, like a position in a high school.

watch Fushigi Yugi its pretty short but its kinda like your story so it may help to watch it u can just go to veoh.com
