Anime with a good lead character

Question

i'm looking to start watching a new anime with a good lead character who's not annoying. i'm hoping for secondary characters too but mostly as a complementary role to the lead and with minimal character development. i'm also looking for an intelligent kind of fighting rather than just big guns.

some anime i'm thinking of when i say this is Darker than Black and Black Lagoon and Cowboy Bebop.

I've also enjoyed Samurai Champloo and Seirei No Moribito.

Bleach has a good main character with a second main character:

Ichigo Kurosaki = main character

Rukia Kuchiki = Second main character

*Bleach aren't "big guns" they're more like big swords which are called zanpakuto....It's really awesome.*

Death Note is also good...

Light is smart and *cute*:-) = main character

*Death Note as you can see is a good show, they don't use swords or anything...In fact there is a lot of blood. This boy finds a Death Note and finds out it belongs to a Death God and Light(the boy) uses the Death Note for killing people. * GO L AND LIGHT!!!

Gundam Seed is good but they play with robots and guns.

*Me, personally, I don't know who the main character is, there's a lot of characters. Gundam Seed is a military anime.*

Inuyasha is good, but to you it might be O.K

*Inuyasha, in some episodes can be boring, but it's still a good anime*

h**l Girl is sooooooooooooo AWESOME!!!!!!

It's this girl, Ai Enma she is h**l Girl..I can't really explain the story right since i've only seen like, 4 episodes.

Boogiepop (or Boogiepop Phantom...the one i've seen) I've only seen one episode..waiting for other episodes..It's only 12 episodes.

Naruto is good...Naruto Uzumaki is a better main character in the Shippuden than the original. Ninja's....

best lead character anime series hands down:

Rurouni Kenshin - he is powerful, but doesn't kill, and can be kind & funny.

Inuyasha; if you want to say Inuyasha is the good lead character, he is because he has a lot of self vs. self conflicts about his feelings for Kagome, Kikyo, and what he wants to be. If you say Kagome is the lead character, um...well, she's okay. She seems cruel sometimes and impulsive with her sits, but...well, Inuyasha's a better character.
