ok its the volume of a sphere.....white the radius given. the formula...........v=4 times pi times R to the power of 3. the radius is 4.6 cm.

the other one is 5 cm and then the other one is .5...can you go through step by step???? i got 407cm with the 3 unit thing..but i dont think its right.

  1. For a radius of 4.6 centimeters,

    Volume of a sphere = (4/3)(π)(r^3)

    = (4/3)(π)(4.6^3)

    = (4/3)(π)(97.336)

    = 407.7 cubic centimeters

Notice that the volume is in cubic centimeters, not centimeters. The 4/3 has no units and π also has no units. But the radius is in centimeters. So when you raise the radius to the 3rd power, you are multiplying centimeters * centimeters * centimeters. The product of three units of centimeters is cubic centimeters. If the radius was in inches, then the volume would be in cubic inches. If the radius was in feet, then the volume would be in cubic feet. And so on and so on.

For a radius of 5 centimeters,

    Volume of a sphere = (4/3)(π)(r^3)

    = (4/3)(π)(5^3)

    = 523.6 cubic centimeters

For a radius of 0.5 centimeters,

    Volume of a sphere = (4/3)(π)(r^3)

    = (4/3)(π)(0.5^3)

    = 0.5236 cubic centimeters

  2. ok its the volume of a sphere.....white the radius given. the formula...........v=4 times pi times R to the power of 3. the radius is 4.6 cm.

    The volume is actually (4/3)(pi)r³

    (4/3)(pi)(4.6)³ = 407.72cm³

(four thirds times pi times 4.6 to the power of three - I just multiplied all this in the calculator on my computer)

Looks like you got the same answer I did.

  3. Well to find the volume of a sphere, the equation is 4/3(pi)(radius)^3

First, take the radius (which in this case is 4.6) and put it to the third power. 4.6 x 4.6 = 21.16 x 4.6 = 97.336. Next, multiply 97.336 by pi, which in this case will be 3.14. Your answer comes out to 305.63504. Next, take 305.63504 and multiply it by 4/3 or 1.33333 (repeating) and you get 407.51....cm^2.

    Final answer: 407.51..... cm^2

    =) hope that helps.
