Antarctica?

Question

Can people go to Antarctica just to visit there to see what its like for vacation, or can you only visit there if you are a reasearcher or a scientist?

I believe there is a cruise offered to the Artic. I, too, have thought of going to see Antarctica. I love the cold. I went on the Alaska cruise and loved the snow and ice. Search the travel sites to find any trips being offered. They probable only go in the summer months because of the extreme cold.

you can only be a researcher or scientist about the animals and stuff

but no plane will take you there

unless.......you bribe a pilot in a private plane and he might just get you there XD

anyway, it is almost impossible to spot antarctica down on the polar regeion, it is all foggy so if you wanna go

There are cruises that leave from South America that will take you there to view Antarctica.  They are expensive, around $6,000.  Just search Antartica cruise on the internet.

there are a couple of small cruise ships that visit there.....QUITE expensive!!      {one just sank}!!      so yes...if you have the money to spend you can visit there.

it may only be with researchers just because its all dark 1/2 the year and all sun the other 1/2. and its very easy to get lost if you dont know what you are doing. but you never know. but it does get very cold and windy to where it very hard to see so that may be another reason.... you should be able to research it and find out on the computer.

You can go there but I believe you have to have VERRRY good cold gear and someone to take you because there are no cities or towns there. It's basicly for reseachers.

My husband was there once with the military. He said that you can go as a National Science Foundation volunteer. They feed and house you in exchange for wok. Sounds interesting.  But I think it was for a few months. After a certain date of the year, no planes can fly in or out.

There are trips out of South America that goes there on a curse and you can look around. But you can sleep on Anartica.
