Anti Locking Wheel nut Problems!

Have been taking alloys off the car ive bought and on my last tire the locking nut is different and i havent got the key for it. Can anybody tell me some different ways to get the nut off asap as im dying to go in my car lol. nut is in a weird star shape. Thanks

  1. Nut splitter, vise-grips, hammer & chisel, torch, weld a reg. nut on and use the normal wrench...  those are anti-theft lugs and need a key socket that came with them. Usually there's one of these lugs on each wheel. Check your glove box/console/spare tire compartment/etc. for the key before you do anything else.


  2. Go to an auto parts store and get a locking lug nut remover ($15 or so).  Its a conical (inside) socket with reverse threads that tighten its grip as you turn it.  Its made to use with a 4 way tire iron.  This method would be faster than "wrestling" it off with the wrong tools (vise grips, pipe wrench, torch, etc.)

  3. my wifes villager has those same locking nuts, suggest you find a villager and borrow one.
