Reign: I totally agree... to cure pollution is VERY expensive while avoiding it in the first place is often easy and costs by far less.

pollution spreads in two ways

there are point sources in which the source of pollution is single and identifiable (car exhaust pipe)  and, nonpoint sources which are dispersed  and difficult to identify (pesticides sprayed into the air).

the method must then fit the offense.

the major methods of combating are input pollution control and output pollution control.

INPUT POLLUTION CONTROL is prevention which is most effective

the flaws:

-is not full proof

-no one does it, you see the truth is no matter how little a bother it is to prevent something from happening. the fact is it's just too much of a bother.

OUTPUT POLLUTION CONTROL is basically clean up.

the flaws:

-clean up is a temporary solution, it does not stop the source

-it removes the pollutant from only one part of the environment and often causes pollution else where

-usually it cost way to much, so no one want to do it
