Any advice for challenge matches?

I'm on the varisty tennis team at school. It's my first year, but I think I have a good skill level.

Tomorrow at practice, we're holding challenge matches to see who ranks in the top 5 (out of 15).

Does anyone have any advice?

  1. Well do you think you're good enough to be in the top 5? If you do then you probably will make it. Have confidence in your game and find your opponent's weaknesses.

  2. Just have fun it shouldn't matter if you win or lose. Having fun is the main part and winning is just a bonus. Whatever you do... do NOT get cocky/conceited it will mess up your game badly.

  3. pretend nobody is watching. or pretend you are playing in front of tons of people. whatever will make you less nervous, or want to play your best. dont goof off. be serious. dont get frustrated. DONT! if you make a mistake think about what you did wrong and fix it. dont dwell on it. good luck! practice up!!
