  1. dont buy the cheap places and only buy a few expansive ones.

    and dont buy alot

but once you start making enough money buy the cheap ones that people seem to land on all the time.

the goal is to not spend all ur money

most people think thats good but its not that is how u lose

  2. monopoly is a fun game and there are absolutely no strategy to this game all that monopoly dose for you is;

1.keep you from getting bored for 5 hours

    if you want some tips

1.do not run low on cash

2.do not sell the free jail pass card

    3.get some houses

4.complain about why the tax pay spot is there

    5.TOTALY OWN THE OTHER PLAYERS

  3. Its true that the oranges are the best to monopolize followed by the reds. Do everything you can to own all three of at least one of these colors. This leaves yellow, green, and blue properties more valuable than yours. Try to own one of each so that no one owns a more expensive monopoly than you. Never let a person landing on your property off easy. Also, only build house when you can afford to build evenly and still take a couple bad landings.

  4. I don't know if this will work for you, but here's what I do:

1)At the beginning of the game, create an "emergency-only" limit for your money. In other words, choose an amount of money you want to keep at all times. This probably sounds obvious, but a lot of people I play with spend money every chance they get a go bankrupt within the first 30 minutes (which should probably NEVER happen).

2)Try and buy the "corner" properties. I don't know the exact reasoning behind it, but it seems that the spaces closer to a corner have better chances of being landed on than spaces in the middle of the game board.

3)Invest wisely. Don't just start building houses as soon as you get all of the deeds; you need to watch where the players are usually landing. There are a few spaces that are landed on a lot every game, but there are also different spaces that seem to get all of the attention in some games. After you figure out these spots, start buying up the houses until you get a hotel.

4)Do your best to get railroads. Don't worry about the utilities. Even though utilities give you some good cash when players land on them, you don't get much cash. Why? Because no one ever lands on them. The railroads are the closest thing to a get rich quick scheme in the game of Monopoly

5)A good set to invest in is the orange color group. I'm not sure why, but I almost always win when I give each of these properties(St. James, Tennessee, New York) three houses. It gives me a great income.

6)Avoid buying Boardwalk and Park Place. In my honest opinion, they're the worst investment in the game. I lose quite a bit of the time when I build on these two properties. They're just too expensive and rarely landed on.

Note: I don't know if these strategies work for other people, but they work for me.

  5. NEVER buy Hotels.. unless you know you can re-acquire ALL of the Houses without a problem. Hotels have a poor rate of return.. and when you acquire Hotels.. you make the Houses available to the other players in the game. Thus increasing the propensity you will pay more money in RENT throughout the game.

The Orange Properties have the highest rate of return of any of the properties in the game. This is a mathematical FACT.

In a situation where the other players are very low on money.. let properties you land on go to auction.. thus allowing you to buy property for below it's original price.

Anyone who says the game is all LUCK and has NO STRATEGY.. should learn to play the game. I don't think it's the best board game in the world. In fact.. the game is below average in my opinion. However an experienced player will win versus inexperienced players more often than NOT.. and thus the game requires some level of skill.
