A very large aluminium can filled with a person surrounded by oil. cars are very rarely made of aluminium and never preserve anything.

Maybe it is an aluminium tank for transporting oil. They have access panels for people to clean them. They preserve the oil within them by containing it.

When you said metal, aluminium, preserves and oil I would have thought it would be a tin can.  But then I saw that you could fit a person inside it, I would think that it's a car, like the answerers above me said.
