  1. I started the saxophone when i was 13 (very late in the year - September) so i haven't even been playing for two years yet.

In that time i have skipped straight to my 2nd grade exam and i got an A in that last year, then this year i have skipped 3rd grade and am preparing for my 4th grade.

I am in the school band, i have competed in an eisteddfod, performed for my class...I'd say I'm doing pretty well for someone who hasn't been playing very long!

And with the piano, i played keyboard for years in primary school but thats nothing like the piano, and i began to teach myself piano and i can now play quite comfortably at a 4th grade level.

Nothing wrong with starting a little older!

Good luck with your violin! I hope you're better than me, it took me ages to master "twinkle twinkle little star" on my brother's violin!! =)

  2. Well i started classical piano back when i was 13, (now 16), within the past 2 and a half years i have been performing concerts around the city,

I first started playing piano back when i was 5 and quit after the first 3 months and had always regret it, I will never quit again
