Hello! I'm trying to teach the kids in my class some new songs, would be grateful if you can list down some nice songs and websites where I can download them mp3..

I already know the basic songs like twinkle twinkle, old Macdonald and so on, so I'm looking for something new.. Also any song relating to trains and police men would be a grate help for the moment of time..

Thanks!

  1. My favorite CDs are by Dr. Jean - google her - she's great!

  2. Here are a few songs/chants I've used in the pass.  Of course, these are not my originals :-).  Just some I've collected.  Sorry I don't know of any specifically for police officers.  You could go more the "safety" route.

    Trains

Tune:  The Wheels On the Bus

The wheels on the train go round and round (bend arms at elbows and move in circular motion)

The crossing gates go up and down (Cross forearms in front of body and then move them up and down)

The railroad cars go clickety-clack (clap hands)

The whistle on the train goes toot, toot, toot (pull down on imaginary cord)

    Five Big Engines

One big engine starts off slow (start with one child walking around the circle)

Two big engines go, go, go (invite another child to join by placing hands on first child’s hips)

Three big engines pick up speed.

    Four big engines, yes indeed!

Five big engines down the track.

Clickety, clickety, clickety, clack!  (Invite the remainder to hook on)

    Choo! Choo!

Choo-o! Choo-o! Choo! Choo!  (run finger along arm to shoulder slowly)

This little train goes up the track,

Choo! Choo! Choo! Choo!  (at shoulder turn "train" and head down arm)

But this little train comes quickly back,

    Choo-choo-choo-choo!

    Whoo-o! Whoo-w! Whoo-o-oo!  (imitate train whistle)

Down by the Station is a good train song that would be somewhat familar to the children and therefor make it easy to learn.

  3. What about Bend and Stretch and Flopsy. Both of the songs are from Romper Room. I hope that I helped you out a little.

  4. Go to Kiddles.com they have a ton of kids songs

  5. Dr. Jean has a wonderful web page with a world of ideas on songs and activities: http://drjean.org/.
