Any registries?

My mare will be having a foal, very soon, and I have already looked into different registries for the foal. Im still indecisive so I'm turning to you guys. What do yall think the best registry is for a foal that the mom is a jockey club registered Thoroughbred, and the dad is registered paint, I think its APHA but I'll have to look it up. The stallion is a homozygous paint, so there is a 100% chance that the baby is going to be paint, so if you guys could please tell me what you think the best registries would be for it? That would be awesome thanks so much everyone! Oh also, the baby will be a hunter/jumper, if that makes any difference, thanks so much!

  1. As long as the APHA still accepts a single parent as APHA and the other as AQHA or Jockey Club, you should be able to register your foal with them. If they don't, the Pinto Horse Association will register the foal for sure since she will be colored. You could also look for a half-paint registry or a half-thoroughbred registry. There may even be a Hunter/Jumper registry.

  2. APHA accepts registrations as long as one parent is registered with them. You can register your horse with the Pinto Horse Assoc. as well as APHA. I would do both..then you can have a double registered foal!!! Your foal might also be eligible for the Appendix registry if the paint stud had AQHA bloodlines.
