  1. I worked for Princess for 8 years you NEVER get a day off and your contract stipulates the hours you work EXCLUDING drills. You need to be inport manning at different times so you may have to spend all day on board when you are docked or at anchor. Wear comfortable shoes. You get paid monthly so be careful to budget. Depending on your job you may or may not have deck privileges i.e. be allowed to fraternise with passengers. Bring low maintenance casual clothes as laundering is a challenge on most ships as crew laundries are scars. You will have access to email on board for a charge and you can purchase phone cards. You will be sharing a cabin so you need to be tolerant of others are their nocturnal habits best to bring it out in the open-I lived next door to the shagger from h**l who was at it all day and all night and the whole corridor could hear her!! Just remember the walls are VERY thin

  2. It's a fantastic life but hard work as you do six months without holiday. You do get to have days off though on glorious beaches. The other staff become like a family and they are all nice. You'll just love it.

  3. Does a P&O ferry count? Lol!!  I did 3 months between jobs with them!

  4. hi i worked with royal Caribbean for 12 years and i love every minute of it i have seen all over the world and please do not listen to any one you have to try it for you self to see if you like it . i am a chef and please there is no harder work on a ship than cooking . so what i can say it a life time of happiness . well for me it was.
