Anyone been to Isla Margarita Venezuela?

What are you're opinions? I'm thinking of going for a needed vacation. I'm looking for a cheap but beautiful and safe option to other Caribbean locales.

it's a really cool place to go, lol, i agree with the first "answerer" about chavez :)

idk why, but when i go to maragarita, in the hotel i stay, there are always a lot of frogs :|

and they freak me out.

Margarita island has Cheap hotels ....I recommend you LOS ROQUES but is a expensive island,,! go to margarita Venezuela.!  farewell

I have not been to Isla Margarita, but my family has and they loved it. However, if you are looking for something differnt from Venezuela I suggest you try San Andres and Providencia, two beautiful Colombian islands...it sounds just like what you need...I think I need a break too.

Margarita is nice but I would not go there now just to spite Chavez.

Check out San Andres Island. It is a Colombian island off the coast of Nicaragua. Really cheap all inclusive flights from Canada. Also check with Avianca airlines for all inclusive fares.

I've been there and like it very much.  It's fairly safe, as well.  If you want total relaxation and don't mind missing out on nightlife and restaurants, I recommend Los Roques. http://www.losroques.org/
