Anyone else hate the texting shortcuts?

I think it's from reading 1984...the shortcuts remind me too much of NewSpeak. it's scary how it's become it's own language, right? i can't bring myself to use them on my phone...

Lmao. Ahh 1984. I rarely use the shortcuts except for 'lol'. I don't understand most of them. People have started to make them up and they are beyond me.

The thing that I really can't stand seeing is LOL. People overuse it, I have seen friends type it when they aren't even laughing they just put it to put it.

Yes, I hate them because people make up ones that are impossible to decipher.

i hate using t9. but i use words like txt, lol, wtf, u, like little things, or if the text is really long i might take a vowel out

1984! :)) NewSpeak is genius.

I hate txtlinggo because of its negative connotations here in the Philippines. Too much shortcuts, sticky caps, and spelling through number-sound-a-likes are all reminiscent of uneducated, jobless, street people.

Plus, I think it's inelegant and distasteful.
