  1. I am from Dublin and live there. I guess by touristy stuff you mean pubs with riverdance and ballads? Some good pubs and clubs in Dublin are Zanzibar, on Bachelors Walk - 5 min walk down quays from O'Connell Bridge. Temple Bar is full of ballads - all live music. The Mercantile in Dame Street is nice but often very packed. If you are in about your early twenties, try Break for the border near Stephens Green Centre or Spirit Club in Middle Abbey Street. Have a good time.

  2. Dublin is rather dull. You are better off to head to Galway in the West or Sligo in the North West if you want to experience the real Ireland

  3. Live music, the Village usually have good  bands on. Sometimes the lamb in Swords have good bands and then the club type bar upstairs. Drogheda in Louth is usually very good and thats only out the road from the airport!!

  4. whats a rourist

  5. Go to a bar called Judge Roy Beans next to Trinity college and have a great night. Or Sinnots underneath St Stephens Green. Break for the Border is a great night out, goes on until the early hours.

If you want traditional Irish music, Temple Bar is the place to be. Try Oliver StJohn Gogarty's.

    As for avoiding tourists...........unlikely !!!

If you fancy a more modern night in cool bars, look for Pravda and Zanzibar on the Quays and round the corner on Liffey Street.

You'll have a great night wherever you go, Dublin is fantastic !!

  6. No not me i am from West Yorkshire England

  7. Try Sine on the Quays, that place is great fun and open late.

Also Whelans on Wexford street has some good gigs on aswell.

  8. Been to Dublin twice this year for long weekend's & Oliver St John Gogarty's was my favourite pub. The best & livliest pubs are in Temple Bar.

However, within 5 minutes of Temple Bar & on the other side of the river Liffey is The Arlington Hotel which is the best hotel I have been to for live music. You don't have to stay at the hotel to have a drink or listen to the music. I'm 22 & loved it, but my parents loved it even more. Mixture of youngsters & older couples.

Have a great time in Dublin - no doubt you will.

  9. no big scary limerick ROAR!hahaha
