  1. i used to adopt/rehabilitate unwanted/abused ferrets and had seven at one point in time.  Now i'm down to my original two.  They do "stink" as some people put it.  It's a rather peculiar odor.  But you'll get used to it.  They go to the bathroom alot and unless you train them to use a litter box when they're young, they'll probably never do it.  Some of the ferrets I've rehabilitated were left running around in peoples houses like dogs and cats, which is fine if they are litter box trained but none of the ones I had were.  They come from the pet store spayed, neutered and descented.  They go to the bathroom in corners so putting a litter box in a corner of their cage and putting their food and water and bed in the other three is the best way to teach them to use the litter box.

They can and will get into ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING.  If they can fit their head through a hole, their bodies can fit so watch out.  They love hiding in and under things so if you let them out to play make sure that the room their playing in doesn't have any open air ducts etc.  They will get into trouble and if you leave anything lying on the floor or within their reach they'll get it and carry it off.  They love chewing on things they shouldn't ex. electric cords, hair brushes, shoes etc.  They will play for hours if you let them.  It seems like they never stop once you let them out of their cage.  And they can climb up anything (blinds, drapes, etc.) But they are wonderful animals and make great pets.  They're pretty low maintenance in comparison to alot of pets.  They enjoy being with other ferrets.  Especially if they aren't out of their cage everyday.  I would try to get atleast two.  They love company and will pile up on each other to sleep.  My ferrets favorite bed is a plush cube that hangs from the cage.  All seven of them would pile into it and lay on each other to sleep. it was adorable!!

I hope this helps you out! Good luck!!!
