Anyone use British gas Homecare??

Question

My boiler seems to be costing a fortune so I'm looking into using this Homecare thingy from british gas for the free annual service and maintainence check.

Will they do the annual service as soon as i apply?? or will I be waiting ages.

Are they likely to write my 10yr old boiler off because "it isn't energy efficent" and I could save £50 a year with a £2000 condensing boiler??

It is a very good service, but you have to tell them that you don't have any heating or hot water if you want them to come the next day.

Not sure how soon they will service your boiler, I have been on it since my CH was installed.

Probably won't cover your boiler if it is over 10 years old.  I just had a new one after 16 years.  It cost a lot more than £2000 !

I use them my boiler has broken down once this year, they came out the next day and fixed it but left me a quote for having the boiler flushed for £600.00 they said if i have too many call outs it will invalidate my insurance but as i have no problems with it now i am not going to have it done i have only called them twice in nearly two years. yes they will do the service when you call they book it,.
