It would be a little bit late, I have not been in school for over 50 years, and forget what I should have apologized for.

If you were a jerk to the teacher and you want to make yourself feel better then go ahead.  It might make the teacher feel better about you but you have to remember they see all types year-after-year.  It will probably mean more to you than to the teacher.
