Apprenticeships?Helppp!?

Question

I want to do an apprenticeship in mechanics but i do not know the first things about mechanics would i still be able to an apprenticeship? also how long can they last and what do you do??

There is nothing to stop you from applying to some  companies to enquire about an apprentice-ship, Some can take as long as 7 years before full qualification, but at least you will be paid for learning

It is not like university where you can run yourself into a lot of debt.

Do you mean motor mechanic, or engineering. Motor mechanic will be much shorter. All they do is learn a skill, and hopefully progress to a worthwhile occupation.
