when i start up my own architect practice, is it a good idea to get a partner?

i realize 2 heads are better than 1, but you need to realize that no 2 heads will agree on the same thing, and there could be legal problems.

thanks !!

  1. There are pros and cons as for a partnership in any business.

The most important thing is to choose the right person. If everything is foreseen legally before starting, this should avoid problems in the future.

Another important point: working with family or friends can be easy because of knowing them, but it can also be problematic, because, even if there should be more respect, generally, being family or friend, they take more liberties. So it is very delicate.

So if you know of someone, think about problems that could arise so you can prepare a good contract to avoid possible legal problems. The best is to see it anyway with a lawyer.
