Arcsoft Photobase....?

Question

Does anyone know a good software programme for getting photos off your scanner to edit them and save to file of your choice etc? I have in the past used photobase but just wondered if there were any better programmes?

My Epson scanner came with Photoshop Elements 2.Recently I have updated to Elements 6.Both will import from the scanner and give excellent results at a fraction of the cost of the full CS3.Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X 2 is a similar product and equally good for both beginners and advanced workers.
