Over many years Geelong supporters have had a Hand, in Bagging their players and Club, its been apart of the CAT culture.

After the Cats sensational display against the Bombers, Clubs like Carlton,Collingwood, Richmond and Essendon would make a "finnancial" Killing, at the merchandise shop, but not at Geelong. The whinge when the club changed its logo for the 2008 season was astonishing, these people just seem to like wearing their 1960's polo shirts and duffle coats . Many cheering at the game against the Bombers did not wear the club"colours" at all , probably just bandwagon supporters !

  1. Yes, I wish they will lose a lot of games so we will have a new winner this year.

  2. I don't think I am spoiled. Geelong are "country" people, I guess. What they have to wear to the match is what they have. I haven't bought anything new, haven't even got a premier t-shirt.

I don't think I need it. If I wear my Geelong stuff here in Kansas, nobody but my co-workers know what it means anyway.

AFL has never tried to market the game to America.

  3. geelong suck..they wont win the premiership this year...i mean its only round 2...and half the supporters at yesterdays game were just randoms...HAHAHA

  4. They will lose to the mighty Dee's this week, I saw it in a dream, admittedly it was a wet dream, the nightmare came later, very scary stuff I saw a record score posted.

  5. GEELONG SUCKS SO DOES PORT POWER

  6. na i think good on them im not a cat fan but you have to admire the way they go about their footy

they seem unbeatable at the moment and you dont seer when they will come back to the crowd the same has been said about nearly all teams in the past but eventually their time will end and all will be as it used to be down in sleepy hollow

  7. We're the best, f*ck the rest!

  8. If I had to wait 40 years for a flag and when it finally happened my club changed its logo I wouldn't like it

    Reward the faith full

Agree that there are plenty jumping on the bandwagon, and they are missing out on a cash jackpot

I reckon that the polo shirt duffle coat wearing supporters are the true Geelong supporters and let them have there moment in the sun.

lts there way of saying I was hear in the tough times

  9. ii just think that geelong are far better than the other 15 teams

  10. sounds like someone is mad that Geelong is doing good so far

  11. I am an Adelaide Crows Supporter although I have the new style guernsey, I still have one of my old original warm woolies that I love to wear in winter.

It is ancient but I still love it.

It is however expensive to keep up with all of the changes, but because you wear an older style doesn't make you a bandwagon supporter, does it?

    Maybe I am wrong :)

  12. lol!!! only until you play Hawthorn

  13. DEEBUBYA,I'm not sure spoilt is the right term because they have hardly been spoilt with success (1 flag in 40 odd years),but yeah there is something about the Geelong faithful -maybe its the one team one town syndrome who knows, but there sure seems to be a lot more of them this year that's for sure and the word humble doesn't apply.

  14. well they are of late, but those poor sods have been tortured like no other supporters in the last 40 odd years.

they could of won so many flags in that 'ablett era' but kept losing, i thought they would never win one, now they might never bloody lose one.

all side keep changing logo's and things to make more money, you can't blame them, but it does get a bit expensive for the ave footy fan, membership, abhorrent prices for food, drinks etc at the games, new gear.

you almost need a $100,000 job to be able to go to the footy, crikey, my first child membership at Richmond got me into every game, not just home games, and was $1.50, i kid you not. the bloke with the peanuts, "peanuts, 10c a bag" going around the boundary and he'd throw you ya bag and you would chuck him ya 10c or run, lol.

sorry i digress, little things made us happy back then, society is spoiled in general.
