Are Scotty Camerons over-rated?

I think they are just as good as half of the putters out there. Whats the big deal with them?

Yea, Tiger uses it... but that doesnt mean Im going to putt like Mr Tiger Woods using it. And its a bit on the higher end of the price scale.

So again, are Camerons just for show?

  1. Maybe overpriced but do infact keep a great resale value and put the best roll on a golf ball that i have seen. I have played for over 20 yrs and still have the first ping anser and a later model as well and have collected  two white hots but the scotty  is a class above, it dropped my handicap by 3 and builds confidence.

Even a poor stroke gets the job done

  2. sure

  3. As a matter of fact, 90% of cameron's are just his spin on a Ping model already long created. Tiger's putter is simply an Ping Anwser.

  4. Overrated no, overpriced yes.  Camerons are great putter but for $300-400 they are way overpriced.  I prefer a YES! putter over a cameron regardless of price, even though the YES! putters are $200 cheaper.  In the same price range is Heavy Putter, if you prefer a heavier putter they feel like they weigh 20 pounds.

  5. Interesting urban myth about about Ping Anser. They say that the original putter didn't have enough room so they left out the "w".

Back on the Cameron. I have the old Pro-Platinum series which many pros use. Not many if any use the new flashy Camerons.

For me - I have used Pings and I have used Cameron Pro-Platinum. The Pro-Platinum wins hands down for feel and balance.

  6. Camerons are made for play and performance but they are also pieces of art, If you have time take a look the website.

  7. Yes, Scotty is very over rated.

They are very simple, classic designs. The same type they sell at Wall Mart., only for $200-$400, maybe with a nicer paint job. "Art" my as$.

Seriously, I love my See More putter; the alignment aid helps keep the clubface on track, and very easy to line up. Add a line on you golf ball to check your set up.
