Are Thrift stores profitable businesses?

I am looking to open either a thrift store or a used bookstore and don't know which is more profitable.

As long as you sell more than you get, youll be fine. Most thrift stores end up with loads of junk they cant sell.

Childrens thrift stores would probably do the best.

No matter what you decide, as long as the merchandise is in really good condition and you dont accept too much, youll be fine.
