  1. Beans are dicots!  If you soak a navy bean or pinto bean in water long enough to loosen the seed coat, you will find two halves to the seed.  Each half is a cotyledon!  Peanuts and peas are also dicots.

    Grains, corn, wheat, oats, barley, rice and the like are monocots.
