Are burnt electronic equipments recognizable?

I mean can we recognize them easily when we open our case?or maybe some devices like voltameter are required?

  1. Burnt electronic equipment has a certain type of smell. Once you have smelt it, you never forget it.   I call it 'the electronic smell of death'.  Usually it means that a component has been fried, or tracks blown off the board (in high current circuits).  Look for this smell, or any discolored or damaged components.  If this is not obvious, the only other way to check for faulty electronics is to use diagnostic equipment, such as a meter, or oscilliscope.   A circuit diagram would also be handy.


  2. Sometime you can see the burnt electronics and sometime there is a burn smell. Other than that, a meter is required.

  3. yes when we see the back side of the device a little blackish colour that means it is brunt
