Are craigslists rides safe?

The ridesharing system seems great with so many people using it, but how safe is it? I'm a college age female. Is this one of those things you should never do alone?

I wouldn't bet on it.  I'd find some classmates/coworkers that you can carpool with.  You might check with your college/employer to see if they have a ridesharing program.  Also, check with your city gov't.  I know there are a lot of programs like that in California anyway.

It's about as safe as accepting a ride from a stranger.

That is what it is. A ride from a stranger.

It's kinda like hitchhiking on line.

This is one of those things you should not do even with someone.
