Are gerbils good pets?

I am a pet lover and I currently own two guinea pigs and a hamster and I'm considering getting a couple more rodents for my clan. I want to know what kind of care and what kind of temperament gerbils have to make sure that these are the ideal pets for me.

Ok if your get a gerbil you need to get two as the don't live alone very well,
