Are gerbils suposed to do this?

i have some baby gerbils and there eyes arnt quite open about week until they do bu they are already eating solids is this normal or not

also i had to leave the male n the tank wen she was pregnant and she is also due in about a week or so but i have no cages to seperate the male with the babies any ideas of cheap cages no u can get the storage type HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you dont have to seperate them, the father wont do anything to the babies or the mother. also, for the babies that havent quite opened their eyes, you should take a warm washcloth and just dab theyre eyes with it, that will help them to open them.

you dont have to seperate them yet but if you do then just get a cheap cage for $20 from a pet store. just get the cheapest one.
