  4. No, hamsters are not blind. If they're blind what would the purpose of them having eyes be? The guy at the shop was a moron or he was trying to trick you.

  6. Hamsters are born blind, however their eyes open at about two weeks - long before they should be in a pet shop. They tend not to use their eyes and have relatively poor vision (being nocturnal vision is limited anyway), relying on scent instead.

    There are of course blind hamsters in the same way there are blind humans.

    The lad in the shop may well know nothing about animals, which is very common as people get the job for the money rather than interest in or love of animals.

  7. No, actually, someone told me they have wonderful eyesight, but there noses do most of the work.

    They have powerful noses. :)  

  8. No there not blind, if you looked at your hamster throught he cage bars he would come and look at you back.
