Are jelly beans suitable for vegietarians?

my mum just brought home two dohnuts one has jely beans on and one doesnt and i am a vegertarian and i dont know if jelly beans are suitable because it is obliously already on the doghnut so there isnt any packaging to look at does anybody know??? because i want that one

Some are, while the others contain gelatin.

Starburst jellies do not have gelatin in them, however the actual candy "Starburt" does. Now isn't that something?

Most jelly beans have gelatin in them. So it depends on how much of a vegetarian you are. The Jellie Bellie brand of jelly beans do not have gelatin in them.

They're safe for vegetarians.  If you're a vegan, though, they might have gelatin which vegans don't eat.

Yes, some jelly beans have gelatin - which is definitely not suitable for any vegetarian.

Now the Jelly Belly brand does not contain gelatin but does contain beeswax - which is definitely not suitable for any vegan.

well... it may have gelatin in it, which i just found out is made from animals (yeah, i know i'm a moron). so i'd say dont risk eating them!

I'm not sure what the above people mean by "depends how much of a vegetarian you are", "as long as you are not vegan" etc. Gelatin which is in most jelly beans (and jello and skittles etc.) is made from boiled animals. It is the same as eating beef broth. If you would eat it you are not a vegetarian let alone a vegan.
