Are laptops cheaper in US?

I am a student planning to go to US next month. And I am planning to get a new laptop. Are laptops cheaper in US than here in india? Price is my main concern.

Should I buy one locally or is it cheaper to get one from US after I get there?

Dude its way cheaper in US. dont buy it India. you can get the latest configuration laptop in US for Rs.35000.
