Are my ferrets being aggressive?

Yesterday I got two ferrets who are two years old. Their previous, whom I got them from, said that they love people, love to play and never bite.

And when I brought them home yesterday they were great! They were so funny, exploring everything and playing with us. I put them in their cage for the night and whole day while I was at work. I got home from work today and they're acting totally different! I'm not sure if they're just dancing towards me or if they're coming at me angressively. One of them nipped me, and it didn't hurt, but it still scared me! They're running around really hyper. Any ideas what is going on and what I should do? Ferrets are new to me, I thought I was getting some that were already trained. Right now one of them is trying to bite my dads foot.

mine does the same, its called war dance. they get clumbsy and knock things off the wall. they love to hide and play tug of war.. there are bunch of resorces online to.. have fun

I wouldn't worry unless they are hissing aggressively.

A hissing sound (sounds like that of a cat only not as scratchy) comes from an annoyed, mad, or a ferret that wants to play rough.

Or they can just be doing the "Weasel War Dance". It's a play dance put on by ferrets who get too excited and can't control themselves. The ferret bounces all about, sometimes flipping over, opens his mouth, and if really having a good time will puff out his tail. It is really fun to see, and believe me, you'll know it when you see it! They will dance while happy and sometimes towards you when trying to get you to play with them.

Ferrets also love feet, especially white socks for some reason. It doesn't matter if toes are in them or not.

Ferrets will sometimes playfully nip. Your could have been trained not to aggressivly nip as kits but some playfully nip.

That can be corrected if you don't like it. Bitter Apple Spray, another Time Out spray works well too rubbed onto your fingers or anything else you don't want their teeth on. Don't hit them though!

Have fun with them, they sound pretty normal =)

Being kept in the cage all day is also probably a good reason why they are so hyper.

they are probably testing out their new environment and are hyper because they are in an unfamiliar place. they biting is probably them testing out their new owner or to see if it's food. don't worry
