Well phone books are updated all the time and my house is packed with them. I feel guilty about throwing them away, so are they recyclable?

I mean we gotta think green and it's a waste of paper.

  1. yeah they are

  2. Yes. In Jan. when the new books come out we have large bins in the grocery stores to put our old books so they can be recycled.

You can also go to www.earth911.org and type in what you want to recycle and your zip to find a local recycle center.

  3. yay!! I am so happy because you think green!! think more green stuff!!

  4. Yes you can recycle them.  But you can also leave one in your car to use when you are trying to find a number for your cell phone

  5. Phone books can be recycled with newspapers if you remove the covers.

  6. Phone books can be recycled, however it's important to find out if your town will take them.  Phone book fibers are too short to be mixed in with regular paper and need to be recycled by themselves.

  7. They sure are. Rip them into sections of a hundred pages or so and lay them on your gardens- they mulch down really well in a fairly short time.
