Are rumors about Jimmie Johnson true?

I have seen a few questions on here about Jimmie leaving hendrick but I haven't seen anything about it on nascar websites. What is the truth about all this? Is Jimmie leaving HMS or not?

I've only seen the questions and rumors here on Y/A NASCAR.  It's probably just wishful thinking coming from the JJ haters.

It was reported Thursday that Jimmie Johnson who debuted the #48 machine in 2002, is leaving Hendrick Motorsports. His contract was signed to go through the 2010 season, but sources say he is looking for a new team at the end of 2008.

So far there has been no comment from The Hendrick camp and Jeff Gordon, as nothing is official as of yet.

Jimmie Johnson is a current back to back Sprint Cup champion, with his eyes on three-peating in what is likely his final year with Hendrick Motorsports.

The rumor’s running rapid is that Johnson will be replaced by JR Motorsports Nationwide driver Brad Keselowski.

Hendrick has not confirmed any reports as to who is replacing Jimmie at this time, or if he will definetely be replaced.

Jimmie Johnson isn't going anywhere. He is signed through 2010 same with his Lowe's sponsorship. I don't know where this rumor was started or who started it, but it is a rumor only. Do you really think Rick Hendrick would let Jimmie Johnson walk? Do people really think Jimmie is unhappy where he is at? The answer to both of those questions is NO.

He's definitely not leaving.  If he's doing that great with HMS, why would he leave?  Tony only left his good ride at JGR because he dreams of becoming a driver/owner.

Apparently someone looked too deeply at something and erroneously concluded that Johnson would leave HMS.

This has got to be a huge rumor, it would be on ESPN or the SPEED channel and it's not, there is no point in him leaving the best team in nascar where he's making a lot of money. This is a lie, and i cant believe people would actually believe it.
