Are siamese cats mean?

I have heard from many people that they are but i think they are really cute and i want to buy one but i want to know if they are as mean as people make them sound.

Some are....

depending how they have been treated or trained.

You have to be STRONG with a Siames because they are VERY opinionated.

They will be ONE person's pet ... not the whole family so it is important if it is yours to spend a lot of time with it at first.

They are VERY smart.  and talkative.

I have had many Siamese over the years... (I like the apple heads better  than the V wedge heads... )

They can be taught tricks if you work with them because they are so smart.

If  you allow them to be treated rough/ or teased/ or mean then YES THEY WILL TURN OUT VERY MEAN.

I have a siamese cat and she is mean as heck. She bites my feet and claws my face. I've spoken to other siamese owners and they all agree with me that siamese are mean cats. Of course that shouldn't discourage you from getting one since they are beautiful cats and every now and then they act slightly nice.

My sister had one called Co-coa for 17 years.

She was a lovely cat!

Hahaa, well to the people she knew she was.

She was very mean to the people that touched her that

she didn't know, but as soon as she got to know them she

was lovely! You could have a conversation with her and she'd

just sit around peoples necks as they walked around the house.

But then my sister had a daughter and she got a bit ragged around a bit by her (when she reached the toddler years.) After that she wasn't really horrible to anyone. Hope my experience answers it anyways.

Yeah, real mean, I ve been attacked by them on several occasions for no reason: and not the same one either, highly aggressive lil b******s, i hate em.

Siamese cats are not 'mean' exactly. They are very vocal and crave attention so make sure you are a patient person who absolutely LOVES their cat. What makes people say that siamese cats are mean is that they have been known to be bipolar or quickly change personality without warning. They have been known to viciously attack people without warning and that is what makes them so mean.

Get a mixed siamese cat. They are friendly and adorable. I have two of them and never had any problems other than their occasional squalling.
