are the redsox going to move to a different park? build a new park?

id love to see the redsox play in a new park even though they would be leaving a place that they have played at for so many years.

it would be sad for them to leave fenway park but it would be another stage in the franchise

  1. It would be sad, but you have to consider Fenway objectively.  The seats were built for a time when Americans were leaner.  The bars in the box seats always seem in the way.  The walkway around the field is an annoyance and causes people to walk in front of others too much.  The bathrooms, concourses, and limited luxury boxes are also limiting factors.

As others have said, the big problem is trying to figure out where they would go.  Building a new Fenway with the same field dimensions wouls have been a good addition to the Big Dig as there could have been both land and the ability to build right in to the transportation infrastructure.

Fenway is great because of the history and the fans.  If you go, you will love it, but be prepared to pay through the nose...

  2. No, it would cost to much. When I went to a RedSox game I saw why there is no room in Boston for a new stadium, plus the city of Boston does not want to move the team away form downtown because they would lose to much money. Fenway park is great not a bad seat in the House. PS The RedSox suck!

  3. Plans to create a new Fenway park were proposed but canceled in 2005.  And thank god for that.  I'm not even a Sox fan, and I think it would have been awful to see it go.

  4. They wont build a new park.  John Henry is way to cheap of any owner.

  5. not for while hopefully and it wouldnt be to New York!!!!!!!

  6. The Red Sox should never switch parks unless completely necessary. Same goes for the Cubs and Yankees. They are 3 baseball landmarks and it is terrible that the Yankees are switching ballparks.

  7. They're going to have to leave Fenway eventually. It might be rich in history, but it's seen a lot of wear and tear. No matter what, it's still a building, and buildings need replaced after a while.

  8. i hope not. it has so much history and its a landmark for the city of boston. the gayest thing ive ever heard of is tearing down yankees stadium and MAKE IT A FREAKIN PARKINGLOT. that is sooooooooooo stupid

  9. They'll leave Fenway eventually. The park is small, the seats are small and a lot of the seats don't have great sight lines. I hope it doesn't get torn down and I say that as a Yankees fan. But progress will soon have them leaving Fenway.

  10. Eventually they will because the upkeep is wasting money. The problem would be where to build it. Unless it's in Boston the fans would leave them.

  11. no
