Are there cockroches in Ireland?

I am living here all my life, never once saw one. I really don't think there are. If there are anywhere, even in the so called 'city slums' they are certainly not a problem.  Insects are not a problem here due to the climate (which is pretty sucky).

There may be a few, but I never came across them. I mean not like in New York or somewhere.

COCKroaches are everywhere !!!!

Yes there are cockroaches in Ireland but they are not at all common.  The climate isn't really beneficial to them.  We also have Cockchafer beetles, which I think are called June bugs in America.  They look very similar to cockroaches and can fly.

Yes, but they are also in other places, too. Anywhere that there are people, cockroaches could be lurking about, as well. That's a fact of life.

Yes they were introduced in a government experiment to see if the could survive in the Irish climate. They escaped and are known to have spread to the major cities now.
