  1. Good question. I don't know. It's been a while since I've talked to a carrot.

  2. Carrots and anything else that needs to be transported has increased in cost because of the higher fuel cost. The people that bring the food to market just pass their cost on to the consumers and they once again get the shaft. The other problem that has effected crops is the issue of trying to grow corn instead of other crops like carrots to make fuel from. Since they are growing less of them they have created a shortage which is now a supply and demand issue, less of something means you can charge more for it, that is why the oil companies like shortages. I hope this helped.

  3. I agree with move on.

  4. The economic problem is with all foods.  Carrots are incredibly easy to grow.  You can do it in your backyard in 5 weeks.  The problem is when you want to grow enuf to feed all the people in Ohio.  To grow and fertilize and harvest all those carrots you use a lot of gasoline.  Since gas has doubled in cost, a farmer can't sell a carrot and make a profit.  That's a problem to people who want a carrot in their salad.

  5. No, but there is generally a lot of dirt on them before they are uprooted.

  6. YES

if you have 10 carrots and then you sell one dollar for each

    you earn 10 dollars
