  1. i love the clothes but i do think they'd be a little too complicated for a nb; maybe get them in a larger size that would fit in the appropriate season once you see about how big she is....they are adorable, but as a mom to a 3 month old, we only wear 'clothes' when we go out, which isn't much as she eats and sleeps so much even now....she lives mostly in easy in easy out clothes....you know, ones with button/zipper access to the diaper area....LOL; but they are adorable...if u just have to get them for the nb size i like the first one the best, then maybe that could be her 'going out' outfit; but every mom is diff, and  you know the mom the best.....how will she be more comfy with clothing: that is, would she rather have her looking good at home all the time, or easy to change outfits for diaper leaks, spit up, drool, etc....?i like gap too, she's got some baby gap clothes that are easy in easy out that are adorable....gl

  2. They are cute but the ones with the feet I would wait on...I got some of those when I was pregnant and my son ended up being 8 lbs. 22 inches long and I had already washed the clothes so I couldn't return them to the store so I had to cut out the feet....I am 5 ft. 1 in and weighed 115 but went up to 150 with the pregnancy....

  3. ok, I am a HUGE baby gap fan, so I have some advice for you (take it or leave it!!)

The outfits are totally cute, but not practical for a newborn.  The baby will be born in winter, and dresses are just not good for that time of the year.

The problems with the other two are the hoods on the tops.  They really get in the way since baby is lying all the time and not comfortable.

This is what my daughter had in every size, preemie through 6-12 months!  I loved them, and I buy them for all new babies.

Easy to put on over a shirt/onesie if cold, and reverses to stripes.

also had one similar to this, and loved it.

Also, not sure if you have checked out the store Janie and Jack, but they are totally cute.  Sometimes a bit pricier than baby gap, but well worth it.  Here are their layette basics.

Good luck shopping for your new granddaughter!!

  4. Do as what you would do for your own daughter...don't ask for other's choices..best wishes.
