  1. There are some strawberries that are white when mature. I've heard that birds don't see them and tend to leave them alone. I know that Fragaria vesca are edible and are not poisonous.

    There are a few, here are some names: Fragaria vesca 'Alba', 'Albicarpa', 'White Delight' and 'White Soul'. (I am sure there are others.) Here is a link to see a picture of 'White Delight'

    Fragaria vesca are known as woodland or alpine strawberries and their fruit is smaller than the varieites that you commonly see in the grocery stores.
