Here in New Zealand [ average wage around $37,500. U.S. ] we now pay approx. $1.50 for a loaf of bread, or a pint of milk, and over $10 for a gallon of petrol, how do you compare where you live ??

  1. Yes. Simple fact is here in USA food is higher, we pay almost $3.00 for a loaf of bread. But so far our Petrol is only an average $4.00 a gallon. But the fact that we have 10 people in our household might hold some weight to.

  3. I don't know off hand what the average wage is in the US.

    In my middle class neighborhood I'd say  over $50,000.

    Food is more. Gas is less.

    (Off topic but I admire your your country a great deal.)
